Holly is our 5-year-old black & white kitty born in our house to an awesome feral kitty my boyfriend and I caught just as we moved here from this dumpy trailer park we'd lived in on a temporary basis. Anyway, Fuzzie, the feral kitty, once we got her to our new place in Baring she just wasn't wild anymore. She seemed to know we'd rescued her and was very devoted to us. She got pregnant very young, had five beautiful kittens and disappeared when they were about 12 weeks old.
On April 29, 2003 Holly was born.
I'm an agate collector and had separated several pounds of agate I had. I put the carnelian in one plastic tub, the holley blue agate in another, and some Apache Teardrops in yet another. Out of those three bins, the holley blue agate was the only material still completely in the rough and had many sharp edges on it. Out of those three bins, our girl kitty chose the sharp rocks to lay on for hours at a time. She always laid on the holley blue agate and that's how she got named. It's actually "Holly Blue" but I just call her Holly. She is an awesome, very personable and friendly cat, making herself well-known in her first year of life. She's the only one of the five I have but I know where all but one of them are. One of her brothers, 420, a gray tabby long-haired gorgeous & over-friendly cat, had an injured hind leg when he disappeared. We have a lot of wild critters in our woods and being nest to the river doesn't help when it comes to wild company. But we do our best.
Here's some pictures of her and her adopted brothers and sisters:
